VRX HOTEL PROGRAM - INTRODUCTION

Building on its experience of producing over 20,000 Virtual Tours, Still Images, and Interactive Maps of hotels throughout North America, the Caribbean, and Europe for the world’s leading online travel service as its exclusive hospitality content provider. Between October 2001 and October 2004, VRX launched a global Hotel Program in November 2004 that all hotels and intermediaries can join.

Under VRX's new Hotel Program, VRX works directly with each hotel to ensure that each amenity, facility, and room type offered by each hotel is accurately represented and covered in accordance with each hotel's content guidelines.

Once created, each virtual tour, still image, and interactive map must be certified by the corresponding hotel before it is added to VRX's Hotel Archive and made available for distribution.

VRX's goal in launching its global Hotel Program is to solve the multiple content challenges faced by all hotels and travel intermediaries - in one step.

The VRX Hotel Program immediately overcomes the following challenges for hotels:

  • The steep cost of creating high quality, web-friendly, visual content;
  • The difficulty of distributing such content to multiple online distribution channels;
  • The difficulty of updating the content on multiple third party websites after renovations;
  • The lack of control that a hotel may have, over who uses their content and how its property is represented by each third-party web site;
  • The time and resources it takes to work with photographers from multiple online travel intermediaries.

The VRX Hotel Program immediately overcomes the following challenges for travel intermediaries:

  • The steep cost and time commitment of creating high quality, web-friendly, visual content;
  • The difficulty of obtaining similar coverage of each hotel, in terms of quality and coverage;
  • The difficulty of managing the accuracy and reliability of each image across thousands of hotels;
  • The inability to track and measure the use and effectiveness of visual content.
