Their big ideas, ingenious plans and forward thinking concepts are only matched by their unyielding commitment to quality, teamwork, innovation, integrity and growth.
David MacLaren
President, CEO and Chairman

Entrepreneurial creativity. Passion. Success. These are the qualities that have driven David's success throughout his career. For the past 12 years David has been a pioneer in the digital content industry. Since January 2000 his passion for travel, adventure and stunning visual content has propelled VRX Studios to the forefront of the content industry and won the company numerous awards along the way.

David began his business career in Commercial Banking with the Bank of Nova Scotia where worked with a wide range of companies. In 1998 he left Scotia Bank to take the helm of DNA Media Inc, a world renowned multimedia production company.

In December 1999, David successfully approached Bright Spark Labs, a Toronto based venture fund, to finance "Real World Images", the first micro stock images site. One month later, in January 2000, David, raised $1.5 million dollars from Cambridge Ventures Ltd., a TSX listed company, to found "VRX Studios Inc. For the first part on 2000, David ran both companies from Toronto, Canada, but by mid June of that year he decided to acquire Cambridge Ventures and devote 100% of his time to VRX Studios. In early 2001 David completed the acquisition and renamed Cambridge Ventures to VRX Worldwide Inc. Today, David is the President, CEO, and Chairman of VRX Worldwide Inc. (TSX-V:VRW), the parent company of VRX Studios Inc.

David earned an Economics degree from the University of British Columbia and studied International Business at the University of Copenhagen. When not providing dynamic leadership in the office, he sits on the Board of Directors of the BC Lion's Society and is an active member of the EO.
 
Kevin Leong, CA
Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer, Kevin Leong leads VRX through the intricate and critical world of finance and reporting. Kevin leverages his notable analytical and forecasting skills, which have been honed during a 20-year career working with leading Canadian companies, with VRX's energetic and fresh approach to business growth and opportunity.

As a Chartered Accountant, Kevin has extensive experience with public company finance and regulatory compliance. He has held executive finance roles in small to large public companies such as the Lowen Group, International Thunderbird Group, VSM Medtech, Urodynamix Technologies, and Silver Recycling.

Kevin has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of B.C., articled at KPMG and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of B.C.
 
Tinu Mathur
Vice President of Sales & Client Care

Entrepreneurial by nature and with a diverse career that has spanned multiple continents and industries, Tinu brings a unique global, cultural and creative perspective to VRX Studios. Leveraging his unique nature and background, Tinu spends his waking hours thinking of new and superior ways to help our clients and their businesses.

Prior to joining VRX, Tinu worked in the print media, digital content and technology industries with well-known global and national brands such as the NBA, Canada Trust, Molson Breweries, The National Film Board of Canada and the Hudson's Bay Company.

While working as the Senior Vice President of International Business Development for eZuz Japan, a publically traded Japanese company, Tinu worked extensively on building partnerships with foreign companies and creating strategies to open new international markets. Tinu specialized in digital content and technology, developing partnerships to bring social media networks, content delivery networks, video and music applications for 3G mobile, advertising and e-Commerce companies into the Pan-Asian Market.

Throughout his career, Tinu's friendly and easy-going nature has made him the perfect choice for mentoring and teaching entrepreneurial programs operated by the Government of Canada and the Business Development Bank of Canada. In addition to this work, he has served on several Canadian Technology Trade Missions to foster bilateral partnerships around the world.
 
Jean Lozano
Director, Information Technology

A veteran IT professional with over 18 year's experience, Jean Lozano is a technical and IT management professional. He has held a variety of executive roles in software development, systems architecture and IT management.

Jean isn't your average computer expert. You won't find any pocket protectors or glasses held together with tape. Jean is cool and collected with a meticulous mind and inventive intellect. In his role at VRX, Jean applies his extensive technical and management expertise to leverage new technologies and drive VRX's business applications.

Before joining VRX, Jean founded and managed Leafnode Systems, an offshore software development and IT outsourcing company. Prior, he worked as an IT Manager responsible for applications development, e-commerce and network operations for Artistic Expressions Ltd., a global direct marketing company that operated in the U.S., Europe and Asia.

Jean holds an MBA and a bachelor's degree in Business Administration specializing in Computer Applications. He's a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), a Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).
 
Anita Petersen
Director of Marketing & Corporate Communication

Born the youngest of 6 into a crazy family, Anita Petersen found the best way to get attention was to brand herself as an outgoing, creative extravert, willing to try anything…once. Her first ad campaign was a series of posters promoting her neighbourhood lemonade stand to a 3-block radius of her childhood home. If she had taken that $12 and put it Apple stock instead of candy, she wouldn't be working today.

Creativity was a trait admired and promoted throughout Anita's youth and education. Her artistic ability and love for culture led to a Fine Art Degree in Art History from the University of British Columbia in 1994. However, her talent for advertising, marketing and branding could not be ignored. In 1999 she completed a Diploma in PR from Kwantlen University College and embarked on her career as a marketing and PR dynamo.

Anita worked in tourism as the Tourism Coordinator for two cities. She famously helped implement the internationally talked about $1 Million Search for Ogopogo which led to worldwide media coverage on CBC, NBC, the BBC, Radio Vienna, Extra TV and countless newspaper and magazine articles around the globe. For the past 8 years, Anita drove the international marketing, branding and PR campaigns for well-known art publisher Art In Motion, garnering global attention from industry partners and the media.

Anita drives VRX's marketing, branding, PR and communication campaigns and brings a fresh perspective to promoting our company to the world and beyond.
 
Ema Peter
Head of Photography

Ema Peter leads VRX Studios' Photography Department with her talent for creating and capturing stunning imagery along with an uncanny business sense – for a photographer. It's hard to find a creative visionary with business acumen.

Working closely with the marketing and advertising departments of the world's leading hospitality brands, Ema has been responsible for creating the Photography Standards for a large percentage of the world's top hotels. As a professional interior and architectural photographer, Ema has years of experience photographing the interior and exterior of hotels and resorts worldwide. Her natural talent, creativity and exacting standards have propelled Ema's career from the first moment she picked up a camera. Her work has been published worldwide and won numerous local and international awards - as well as the admiration of VRX's clients.

You can't escape Ema's sparkling personality and incredible energy. Before joining VRX, Ema spent 3 ½ years as a TV Presenter and Co-Producer at the Bulgarian National Television Company. Her presentation skills and vivacious attitude gives her a natural ability to connect with our clients and photographers.

Ema has a Masters Degree in Art and Applied Photography from the National Academy of Theatre and Film Art 'Krustyo Sarafov'. Her flair and talent for photography led to an Internship at the Magnum Photo Agency in Paris where she worked with the editorial departments of major newspapers and magazines.
 
Jenni McInnes
Manager, Post Production

Jenni McInnes has an exceptional and seasoned eye for high quality visual content. Her unique skill is the result of a prominent 15-year career driving acclaimed marketing initiatives for airlines.

In 2001 the ambiance of the West Coast lured Jenni from the hustle and bustle of Toronto to join Canada 3000 in Product Development. Later, she joined the inaugural launch team of Harmony Airlines, developing and managing the Product Marketing Team from day one.

Jenni established her name in the industry by developing marketing programs that enhanced airline offerings with hotels and associations such as the Australian Tourism Commission, Starwood Hotels and Resorts and The Hawaiian Convention and Visitors Bureau. This approach successfully increased passenger traffic for each airline that was lucky enough to work with her.

Jenni co-developed the first Oahu Destination Specialist program for travel agents in Canada and was the brains behind Harmony Airways first media industry event in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo. Using her ‘make it happen attitude', on the spur of the moment, she pulled a plane out of rotation to take 200 anxious media and industry leaders to the inaugural event.

Jenni manages VRX's team of Photoshop gurus and quality control specialists utilizing her wealth of marketing knowledge, her eye for detail and highly attuned management skills. She's a master project juggler with an amazing ability to expertly run multiple projects, ensuring deadlines are met and our client's content meets our strict quality guidelines, each and every time. She's was on the client's side for 15 years before realizing her true calling was creating the content itself, as a result, Jenni understands the role that stunning visual content plays in winning the hearts and minds of consumers.
